Where I hesitate is that some embrace modern day prophets and other charismatic practices, like opening portals to heaven. The reason why I believe a lot of it true is because there are too many witnesses of the same events across too wide a geographic range for it to be a coordinated hoax or mass hypnosis with false memories implanted.
