Thanks for the article J.D. I'm glad they didn't quibble over doctrinal minutiae at the conference but was the gospel presented? How many who attended probably felt their patriotism and "family values" will get them to Heaven. I'm guessing quite a few. I am a pro-life conservative who has voted Republican in every election since 1983 but we know that doesn't merit salvation. We have to be more focused on evangelism than on "blood and soil". That ship has sailed and it's not coming back. Christian Nationalism is a band-aid on a sucking chest wound. Preach Jesus!

I think this is what I meant by "doctrine is suppositional." It's presupposed. I've been to a lot of conferences by MacArthur and G3, and I've never once heard the gospel presented. I've heard the gospel examined, I've heard the Gospel dissected, I've heard the Gospel knitpicked and treated like some kind of lab specimen. But I've never heard it preached to the crowd evangelistically, not once.

I'd say those conference organizers would disagree, and say that they preach the gospel at every conference, but I'd disagree strongly; they talk *about* the gospel, and presume everything there is already saved, discussing how other groups don't understand it as well, or perhaps trying to get the attendees to understand it better. But nobody's preaching to the crowds exhorting them to repent of their sins and believe it.

Obviously the gospel is the only thing that can leaving a lasting, positive impact in this world, but it's not the only thing to be preached. Are we not told, as Paul said, to preach "the full counsel" of God's word? I think we have to be careful not to be like so many useless Christians who did nothing to (for example) end abortion or slavery, who just said to preach the gospel while not striving whatsoever to be salt or light.

This article, and the reading of it, is greatly appreciated. Thanks for raising the issue from the confession - I hope to see people discussing that. And thanks for detailed and specific list of all things they are getting right. That was immensely encouraging.

Thank you. I was able to be in Texas at Joel’s conference. I can’t tell you what it means to be around like minded folks. Also, the modesty was definitely apparent there as well. Thank you for explaining who you are in this article. I hadn’t a clue (nor do I have much of a clue on most of the names and organizations still. Ha!). I appreciate you sir and happy to subscribe. Looks like I need to get some email addresses of some folks!
